Skills and Experience:

  • Brooke has over 20 years’ experience in the community and recreation industry working in a variety of organisational settings including Local Government in Metropolitan Sydney, NGO’s and Not-for-Profit at an Executive level and has featured as a keynote speaker and a number of major sport and recreation conferences including the National Sports Convention and Aquatics Hypothetical events.
  • Brooke was the Leader of over 1600 employees as an Executive Leader Operations for a large Not-for-Profit responsible for oversite of all operations teams including Recreation, Child Care, Marketing and Sales, Customer Experience, Growth and Business Development, Quality and Compliance and Product specialists including Learn to Swim, Fitness and Gymnastics operating throughout two states. Brooke was responsible for over 100 community and recreation assets in NSW and ACT and an annual operating budget of over $50 million dollars and asset base totalling $150+ million dollars. This included management and operation of over 40 swimming pool and Aquatic facilities, over 60 child care centres and two recreation and camping sites.
  • Brooke frequently assumed the acting position of CEO within a large NFP, reporting directly to the board and supported the development of annual organisational budgets and the organisations 5 year strategic plan.
  • Throughout her time at Local Government Brooke was the department manager for over 40 Council leased facilities and contract manager for all management agreements of Councils major sport and recreation facilities. Brooke brings her knowledge of Local Government processes to ensure practicalities and dynamics of Council are built into all thought processes.
  • Brooke is a growth specialist in aquatics, sport and recreation, supporting the asset development and participation of many urban and regional communities in NSW in her recent executive role. Brooke is passionate about improving the health outcomes of regional communities, particularly mental health outcomes and enabling greater access to facilities.
  • Brooke has overseen large multi-million-dollar government grant applications for capital upgrades and development of recreation precincts, with particular focus on areas with under provision of assets based on population needs currently and projected in future.
