Project Description: Learn to Swim program build including levels, mascots, community engagement and marketing, recruitment, training, equipment order and program launch activities.
Project Deliverables:
Research, development and build of a new Council and locally bespoke Learn to Swim program, which included: Lesson plans, assessment criteria, order/purchase equipment, staff training, uniforms, marketing materials, pool layouts and operational budgets.
- Base level program that can be continually built upon as the enrolment base grows.
- 11 levels for child classes and 6+ for adolescents/adults
- Inclusions of water safety specifications to ensure the program is a GST free program.
- Core competencies and assessment criteria for each swim level.
- Assessment guidelines for each level.
- Easy to follow lesson plans for each swim level.
- Thoughtful naming conventions for each level related to the indigenous history of the local area e.g. ‘Catfish’ that are of significance to Bayside Council area.
- Initial staff training sessions – 10 hours of LTS program specific training.
- Phone scripts to assist customer service staff to navigate new and transitioning enrolments.
- Graphically designed marketing materials following Council’s specified branding guidelines to be used on website, socials, and in-centre promotions of the swim lesson program.
